The DiDAX project welcomes the appointment of Robertas Skliaustas (Genomika Lietuva), a DiDAX consortium member, as Co-Chair of the DNA Data Storage Alliance, alongside Vincent Franceschini (Biomemory).
This leadership transition marks an important moment for the global DNA data storage ecosystem, as the field shifts from research-driven exploration toward structured coordination, interoperability, and early market adoption. The Alliance plays a central role in this transition by aligning stakeholders across biotechnology, ICT, standardisation bodies, and end-user communities.
For DiDAX, this appointment is particularly meaningful. The project is focused on enabling practical, trustworthy, and scalable DNA-based data storage systems, and strong representation within international governance and coordination platforms is essential to achieving that goal. Having a DiDAX consortium member actively shaping the strategic direction of the DNA Data Storage Alliance strengthens the connection between European research initiatives and global ecosystem development.
We also acknowledge and thank David Landsman (WD) for his leadership as Chair of the Alliance, which helped establish a solid collaborative foundation across industry and research.
DiDAX looks forward to continued engagement with the DNA Data Storage Alliance as both initiatives work toward a shared objective: accelerating the responsible transition of DNA data storage from emerging technology to deployable infrastructure for long-term digital preservation.
